About noturnonred.org

No Turn On Red is a blog about the retail industry, social media, and connecting with your customer. Since 2006, Tom Sullivan has been commenting on technology trends within the retail industry and has followed the evolution of social media from it’s inception. I believe that with the combination of outstanding customer service, the corporate adoption of social media, transparent communications, and innovations in technology, retailers can create lasting consumer relationships, build their brand, and increase their sales. I am very interested in how traditional (”brick and mortar”) retailers are adopting these new technologies that are available to them and using them to connect with the customers and grow their businesses beyond walls.

Beyond customer service, social media, and excellence in corporate communication, I offer my thoughts on visual merchandising, in store presentation, product assortment, and a variety of other things I see retailers doing around me.

My background is a mix of in store retail and hands on technology. I worked with internet start-ups and advertising agencies through the explosion of the Internet and new media before taking some time to explore the retail industry as a visual merchandiser with Kohl’s.

I now find myself combining my love of technology, my passion for putting the customer first, and my interest in the retail industry as I work with top brands at Media-Hive. where we help clients realize the full potential of any interactive application by focusing on Information Architecture, Human Factors and web standards.
